Disable/Toggle Hotkeys
Please, please, please, for the love of all that is good and holy add the ability to disable/toggle hotkeys. I keep accidentally pressing the hotkey to begin a voice call when trying to type to people in private messages, and this is VERY ANNOYING because then I panic and have to flail to grab my mouse to stop the call... and then apologize and explain to the person that I did not mean to call them. I'm never going to use any of these hotkeys, ever, and the addition of the ability to turn them off is REALLY needed.

It's 2021, almost 2022, please let us remove existing keybinds.

I don't even know what the hotkey for "start a call" is, but sometimes I accidentally press it. For three goddamned years.
What the heck, Discord?

def1nt❤ it's Ctrl-' (the single quote) FWIW, in case you want to try and define a global hotkey doing nothing for it (that's what I ended up doing).

xbot you can remap global hotkeys to void action? Unexpected... But thank you, this will do, for a time.

def1nt❤ not using discord (which is part of the issue) but the OS (Windows/macOS/Linux) normally allows bindings hotkeys globally, though it can be a bit convoluted. You might need to create a program / script which does nothing to have something for the hotkey to run (on linux it's usually /bin/true or /bin/false, not sure for windows).

just wanted to say that this is still an issue and discord sucks, thank you for reading

Its because of this, that i've uninstalled Discord... i cant stand it! I'm constantly hitting these buttons causing stupid shit to happen because of discord, toooooooooootally done with this garbage!

and yet 3 years later discord still reacts to me using the undo and redo buttons on my mouse even if its NOT THE FOCUSED APP

Accidental voice call is not te only problem. There is a refresh that erased a long text that I typed (Ctrl + R, I guess).
This hotkeys are really annoying.

I thought with how many comments this was getting and how many years it's been already that maybe Discord would pay attention to it, but here we are, still begging for this functionality that should have been included from the start.

I just wrote a small autohotkey script to disable scroll up/scroll down because this company cannot seem to grasp that its users want freedom from specifically mandated hotkeys. Allow full disabling of hotkeys with one setting, jerks. Like everyone else in this thread has said...3 damn years. Thanks for nothing.

i see your 3 years and raise you 5 years because this is still intolerable today
like, the more i go througg life, the more i run into shit like, “writing is my job, so I get confused going between markdown and ctrl modifiers for formatting, and every time I do, CTRL + * (mixing ctrl + I and shift + *) sends me flying out of my DMs and into some random channel (i guess "channel 8”) and I can't stand this
there's no excuse for it at all and big tech companies being immune to people's input is going to get them regulated. i hate all of them.

Worth noting that you can work around this, to an extent, by creating new custom keybind using the “Add a Keybind” button, setting the action as “unassigned”, and setting the keybind to the one you want to disable. That function appears to supercede the built-in binds. It's an exceptionally round-about way of handling it, but for anyone frustrated by some of the default binds (as, for example, the keybind in the OP that starts a VOICE CALL with the person you're just trying to DM, why the hell is that even a thing?!).
Honestly, Discord, you have a green enable/disable slider next to each entry in the custom keybinds. It's not THAT hard to just add the exact same slider to each of the built-in keybinds. Boom, problem effing solved.

Bumping this issue.
It seems that discord recently added a new default keybind for toggle screen share “ctrl+shift+L” that I cannot disable.
Lacking the ability to remap or disable keybinds is ludicrous, the state of this application is shameful.

How is this not solved 5 years later?
