Discord messages disappeared after unblocking

Hello, I have a problem. My friend blocked me on discord, after he unblocked me, I noticed some messgaes from him are missing at beggining.. I was like ok, maybe he just deleted them and wants to forget about our fight.. but the next day, I wanted to find some pictures in history he sent me, and they were all gone. I tried to search in history for all of his messages, and everything was gone.. does blocking someone really means that the person is not able to see your messages anymore? Or they are just invisible? I highly doubt he deleted literally all his discord messages just cause of one fight, it would took him hours to delete everything we discussed about past these few months. This is really important for me, if there is any way how to restore these messages, please tell me..
