Improve notification in browser

Discord in browser lacks many features, which serve as a push for people to use the client. But notification should not be one of them. In many social websites, notification in browser is fairly important. Discord in browser only make a sound and that's it; there is no other way to see pending notifications if you were away when it happened. 

Discord in browser should at least show a (1) in the tab or flashes the browser icon.

(For reference, I use Microsoft Edge in Windows 10).

EDIT: Just found out that to have the notification send to your desktop, you should have Enabled Desktop Notification enabled (Setting > Notification). However, I believe this is still not a visible notification since the pop-up can disappear. I still stand by my suggestion above.

    i use a chromebook without the google play app so i cant install discord so i agree with this.

    many of us stay in touch with people while using work PCs where we don't have local admin and therefore can't install the client - same situation.

    Someone could develop a chrome extension or use the discord api to make an external website with push notifications
