Customized Home Channels

Currently, under Home, there are four channels (Activity, Library, Nitro and Friends), plus a list of all direct messages.

It would be very nice to be able to customize and add new channels in Home. For example, I could add a channel called Google where there is a search bar that automatically redirects you to your browser if I click on it or a channel where my documents folder is shown and I can click on the files.

However, instead of a couple of presets, I would like to be able to create completely customized channels with CSS, HTML and JavaScript, so I have full control over the look of it.
