Option to archive a group chat without leaving it

Right now, you can press the X next to a group to leave and delete it. Adding an option to archive a group chat without leaving it would make life so much easier!

    I was just going to make a post about this.

    Would really like this to be a feature as other platforms such as WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger have this and it makes managing the Chat tab much easier.

    Seconded! Lost a group DM due to human error. If I had an archive option, the DM could've been saved. It's a bummer to lose months of creative discussion with no failsafe.

    Still dying to have this option. If I close a DM it doesn't delete the history, why do I have to keep every group DM I've ever joined open and create scroll clutter or exit and lose access?

    At the moment I cannot archive a group chat to be able to keep on top of all the DM's, so they just clogg up at the bottom. 
    I don't want to leave them, because I want the history and idea's that's in them. I just don't want to have them in my face with everything else. Especially if the group is on a hiatus or something. 

     

    I just want to be able to keep things organised. Archive, not delete. Peace of mind. 
    Inbox Zero would be a nice concept here.

    Totally agreeing on this. I guess having another account for all the less-important groups is the way to go for now.
