Option to always start at the newest message
It would be nice to have control over how unread channels are presented, with options to
- Start at the oldest unread message (default behavior)
- Start at the newest message in the channel with the new messages still marked as such
- Start at the newest message in the channel and mark the channel read.
This would be great for channels that get a lot of info, but not all of it is important to need to scroll through the history of. This would save time, because having to click a channel to check it and scroll through many pages to get to the current information is really cumbersome, especially when a channel displays time sensitive data.

I have to say I have t used discord because of that. I never now where is the latest post? Every time I go into a channel I spend a few seconds da scrolling up and down to find the end. Not a good experience.

Why is this not already a thing? Is the design intent that you simply miss all the posts from when you weren't reading?
Discord does great voice chat but the text chat experience is just so bad for anything other than chatting in one single channel. Scrolling back is awful, picking up where you left off is awful.
