Ability to choose nickname before joining a new server (invite link)
When I accept an invite link sent to my email it takes my default nickname on the new server.
Could you create an option to change the nickname before joining the server?

If you don't like your username, feel free to change it. However, I don't see a single reason why you would need to change your nickname on a server before you even join it; you can just change it when you actually do join it.

I feel like this feature would be great too. On one hand you might have different nicknames in different games or for different groups of friends and when you join a server they might not know who you are and the welcome message only displays your default nickname so it might be hard to catch on afterwards. On the other hand we use discord for work purposes too and i feel like my colleagues don't have to see my gamer tag.

This would be great for WoW -- whenever you join for a raid it's really great to use your current character's name

Discord seems to be very keen to prevent users from creating multiple accounts, so the ability to use different nicknames on different servers is an absolutely essential requirement now. People use Discord for real life or professional contacts (friends IRL, conferences, ...), and for online games where it would not be good if their IRL nickname were exposed.
Without the ability to manage nicknames the only way to handle this might be to set an entirely nondescript username, and to set server specific nicknames that are recognisable within the relevant context (real life, online game, ...)
If that is a recommended method it would be nice to have that pointed out in the support documentation, and given the importance of this use case even in the built-in help and configuration system.
