Quote Retroactivity

The new quote markdown should not be retroactive.

I like the > syntax, however it messes up all the messages created before this feature was added. Please change it so that the messages created before this feature was added to not be affected by the new quotes syntax. For instance, by automatically escaping the ">" and ">>>" directives in all the messages created earlier.
