[feature request] No splash screen on startup
PC Discord can finally run on startup and start minimized to tray. I requested both those options and they were implemented, thanks to similar feedback from tons of other people.
But the point of this was to make Discord unintrusive, which we still haven't accomplished. Right now Discord DOESN'T START MINIMIZED. It starts maximized and closes itself to tray once it's done. It's really esthetically disturbing.
So, please make Discord truly START minimized - without the visible rotating gamepad icon, without the window going fullscreen for a split second before disappearing. Just... don't show the interface at all.
Please and thank you <3

yes, Please 1 -
While I don't want to start discord minimized (because my window manager doesn't know the concept of minimized windows). I still would like to be able to disable the splash screen as it doesn't bring any benefit in my eyes.

Every time I start up my PC, I start doing something and am then rudely interrupted by Discord opening a maximized window for about 2 seconds before it disappears to the tray. Silent startup should be silent startup. Many other pieces of software manage to do this just fine.

Exactly.

I would very much like to see this implemented. Getting a grey window that blocks everything for a few seconds is annoying.

Yes this is very confusing, i didn't know this was a thing, even worse on windows 11 it doesn't show as an active app in your taskbar, made it even to the point i didn't know it was in my minimized apps, ending up me killing the process because i thought the app became unresponsive, didn't launch to full screen when i tried to maximize it again with the taskbar icon, now there are some problems with windows 11 with states on the taskbar but the app still should launch/maximize when you try to open it.

I adjusted a line in the discord.desktop-file to:
Exec=/usr/bin/discord --no-startup-id --start-minimized
It works fine, no splash-screen and starts minimized.
I don't know if it works on Windows as well, if you wanna try it you need to edit the application-properties of the Discord.lnk-file to something like this:C:\Users\[YOUR NAME]\AppData\Local\Discord\Update.exe --no-startup-id --start-minimized

Hey Switch,
Just letting you & everyone else know. I tried the startup switch on windows:
Target: C:\Users\Nate\AppData\Local\Discord\Update.exe --processStart Discord.exe --no-startup-id --start-minimized
... To no avail.0 -
Be advised, "start minimized" was also checked inside discord settings.

Yes, I confirm. Doesn't work on Windows, because on Windows we don't start Discord.exe, but Update.exe, and Update.exe refuses to pass the startup parameter along to Discord.exe

Agree with the general comments here - Start minimised should mean “silent” startup - no splash screen.
Please give us an option to disable the splash screen.
