Add Selective ringing when starting a call in Group chats
Think about it:
You have your 10 people group chat in Discord, 3 of them are sleeping and 1 of them is studying, but you want to start a call in the group chat for the other 5 people (other than you) without startling the other 4 that are away/busy.
You have two options here:
1. Start the call and ring everyone on the group chat and quickly click on the "Stop ringing" option for the people you don't wanna disturb.
or
2. Make a throwaway group chat with the members that you specifically want to call.
These two seem like a hassle and you can even ruin people's moods by ringing them when they are sleeping or doing something else.
I introduce to you the idea of "Selective Ringing", a feature that will guarantee a nice and strong friendship with everyone in your 10 member group chat.
Selective Ringing lets you ring only the people that you want to be rung, excluding the ones that you choose not to include in the call, avoiding any potential conflicts with your group chat members.
When you click the call button on your group chat, a small list containing the names of all your group chat members appears, along with check boxes beside their names. Clicking on these boxes will add the people you want to call to the group voice call and ignore the unchecked members so that Billy can regain his hours of sleep after that tough exam while Dianne streams her kickass Overwatch match through the built in Screen Share feature. At the bottom of this list there can be a big purple button that says "Start Voice/Video call", which will begin ringing everyone that got checked on the list.
But what if you want to ring everyone in the group chat? Nobody gets left out today! We're all going to watch funny cat videos like a wholesome group chat. So on the same member list that i mentioned above, there can be a button that says "Ring all" or "Check Everyone", that way you don't have to click eeeevery siiiingle boooox every time you want everyone to be rung.

+1 to this since I am in groups with people in different time zones globally and this would make things much more comfortable when people are sleeping.

Wasn't this a feature, until like the last-or-something update? I want this again.

It's frustrating because you can ring someone specifically in a group chat if you're already in a call with that group, but not untill you've started a call and rung everyone

This is a feature skype had since the beginning. Essential in my eyes!

Seems this has been available on the desktop client for at least two years (thanks to this reddit thread for pointing this out)

Shift + left click works... wow

A lot of people mention shift + left click.
As I mentioned in one of the reddit posts, this doesn't work on the phone, sadly.

It's a great solution for pc users like me at least. They should add it on the app somehow.

it should be its own button and not so silently hidden for users who dont look for stuff on the forums like this.

They added this feature
Press [Shift] as you click on call, then it will not ring everyone, but there still should be a button on mobile0 -
+1 - I agree with this. Countless times ringing group chats and having to click Stop Ringing individually on those who either aren't going to join the call or they're too busy to join and would make a lot more ease when playing or talking in groups rather than having seperate groups for everything and filling DMs with groups.
