Better Video Quality

55fps and 1080p are almost nitro functions, don't see reason, why they have to implement this. But 1 thing that I don't like in screen share in Discord is bitrate. It's dropping, when a picture gets more dynamic. That would be a good fix, imo.

Hi, i'd like to know why the screen share is such shit quality? I cant even read the header font of my friends screen through it. Total trash. Only thing it does better than skype is the choppy-ness. It seems to change day by day too, the other day it was fine and dandy at high(ish) resolution, but now it looks like pixel art. Both on 100/100mpbs and i7/ryzen respectively

@Vexbane Bro, this software is free. What's the point ? This is their strategy. Find something else and pay for it maybe.

Okay so I think I just fixed the screen sharing issue.

    First I uninstalled discord.

Then I deleted the discord folders in "AppData\Local", "AppData\Roaming", and "AppData\Local\Temp".

I then made sure there were no more discord folders.

Then I reinstalled discord and it's working so far.

On an interesting note, When I deleted the discord folder in Roaming I noticed it was 500 mb. Now that I have everything reinstalled it's 140 mb.

Can confirm this seems to have worked for me. Seems that if you've had Discord for a long time, you get some congestion/weird bit rate issue when streaming. Uninstalling it then removing the folders and reinstalling improved the quality amazingly according to my pals.

Why do they say its 1080p when the stream comes through at 140p seems like some false advertising and basically making that nitro feature bs

Video quality is really catastrophic. We both have very fast fiber internet with 1080p Logitech C922 Pro cams, but all we get on Discord is a laggy pixel soup!

I just read that better video is a paid feature?!? Why is it so? Video can be be streamed P2P with a simple web browser (WebRTC)

Nitro subscriber, RTX 2080, i7-9700k, 1000/1000 mbit internet (fiber) and stream still looks like this^

i have a modest server, approx 20 active users max at a time, boosted to level 2. occasionally a few of us will watch the stream of a fellow server member. the video goes in and out of pixelation, varying between perfect quality and complete unwatchable. at a level 2 boost, i expect the video quality to be stable, especially at such a low active user level. if achieving this is not possible, i don't anticipate maintaining my server boost investment.
