Pinned Messages

Currently, to access pinned messages, you have to click on the channel name, hit pinned messages, la de la de la. For certain channels, it is necessary to have custom rules in the pinned messages, however some users do not use them. I think it would be good to have (at least on browser and desktop) to have the pinned messages in place of the online list sidebar. This would ensure that people saw the pinned messages. Of course, in other channels this is downright annoying, so it could be enabled/disabled in the channel settings. Just my 2 cents :).

    ^ Yes. I wanted to make a suggestion along the lines of making pinned messages in some way actually pinned, and CLEARLY VISIBLE. This would work for desktop at least.

    Users currently do not see pinned messages, and when there are breaking news that require pinned messages, the users keep asking again and again the questions that are answered in a pinned message, because they aren't pinned at all. They are basically just per-channel bookmarks, and that is not noticable. They are completely useless for anyone that isn't proficient at using Discord as a product first, which is not an okay situation..

    Pin the pinned messages please!

    This is my only real problem with Discord at the moment. Even if the channel description appeared above the chat box before they started typing that would be enough. It seems weird that pinned at almost completely useless as pinned messages as they are completely invisibility unless you actively look for them. I currently have a bot that spams the chat every hour to explain the rules of certain channels which is not a great solution, but it's the best I have right now.

    I was about to request a way to have at least 1 pinned message be visible at the top of the channel at all times. I'm in a bunch of discord servers and NO ONE reads the pinned messages. They will continuously ask the same question "why doesn't the mod work?" and it'd be nice to have at the top of the channel a block that has a pinned message that says something like "we know there is a problem with (insert mod name) and we are working on it! STOP ASKING!" I would almost say the "pinned messages" part of discord needs a rework cause even if we set pinned messages, no one is reading them.
