Wouldn't it benefit Discord to provide what it's users need to make the platform workable? Do not understand this business approach. Creates a huge opportunity for a new competitor to come in and capture market share by improving functionality. In other words, listening to its customers needs.

I would also pay to make sure that when certain people contact me, there's no way I'll miss it.
Hell, I wish I could get an email/SMS notification for when people so much as start typing a DM.

I think your right, if we stand any sort of chance of getting this done then it would need to be a mass complaint at once.

Just did a search to find out how to do this and I found out I could not yet. Hopefully, they will have mute overrides for @user or allow you to follow a person so you get notified because they have been active.

I just want to turn off notifications sounds from bot spam in a channel without ignoring the people in that channel and while still being able to see the bot’s messages later if I check manually. Why aren’t per-user notification settings a thing?

Please, please, why do I have to mute every single person to have only a couple send notifications? CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't even believe our Discord person when they told me this. I said, nah, you can't be right, that has to be an option, Discord isn't new anymore.
