Better Code blocks
I use Discord a lot for sharing code, and the built in code blocks are lacking many features I would like. Here are some:
- Real time code colouring. Instead of the colour formatting applying when the message is sent, apply them while something's being written.
- Add collapsible code blocks. The message limit exists for an obvious reason, but having to split up code into multiple messages is a pain. Instead, have them collapsed by default and the user can manually open them. Maybe have the collapse option be stuck to the top of the message while scrolling?
- C# support. Just do it.
- Automatically highlight CSS when nested in an HTML document.
- Add support for remapping the key. One of my friend's keyboard doesn't have a tilde key. (Swiss Mac)
Stuff that I doubt will happen, but I will list regardless:
- Integration into IDEs, like a button that will automatically import the code into a document in IDEA. Then selecting a block and importing it to Discord.
- Automatic syntax checking. (Discord is not an IDE, I guess)
- Some sort of code run button (Terrible idea...)
