Global Notification settings / notification for DMs only (PC)
Right now the only way to get a notification sound for DMs, but not for random messages and random @messages is to click on every single server you are in (and going to join in the future) and mute it manually / set notifcations to nothing. Obviously, that is somewhat silly, if all you want is to get notified when someone sends you a private message.So a notification option in the main settings under sounds for "direct messages" decoupled from regular messages would be great.
(people may or may not have complained that I only respond to DMs hours later when I bothered to check if I have some)

The fact that it's STILL not an option after 2 years is a bit rubbish...
I have way too many servers and I really don't want to have to completely mute them all since it doesn't even seem like you can only mute the sound on them but leave the little message dots on them still which is a pain...
I know on my phone I can have it set to not get push notifications for any servers but have DMs send them which you know, works well for my phone but not my PC5 -
While I personally believe the entire notification system needs a drastic overhaul (no mobile notifications while discord is running on a pc that isn't idle? Seriously?!) this is an option that we need desperately - even if this thread is now 2 years old.

This is freaking ridiculous. If someone DMs me, I want it right away. If someone tags @diamond level Rocket League players, I do not want my phone to vibrate. I can't believe Discord hasn't made this happen yet. It's legit embarrassing.
