    Hiya, discord kind of has a workaround for this. You can give certain roles the "Priority Speaker" permission, and when they speak, everyone else's voice volume is a lowered so that the priority speaker can be heard.

    Necro-bump: this was the first result that was relevant to what I wanted.

    I'm having a similar situation where I have to mute because the people I'm in a call with are trying to do D&D and don't want vocalizations interfering with their strategy. However, if I want to actually reply to something someone says without unmuting (which they still don't want even if I'm replying, apparently), I'd like to be able to notify everyone of my message if permitted by the guild admin (that is, I think it would be nice, but should be under the "mention everyone and here" permission)

    it's probably too much of an edge case to actually implement, but I think more flexible pings would be really nice just in general, so maybe it could be worked into a larger overhaul of the mentioning system?
