I think a voice message option should be added to discord (similar to the one instagram has in direct messaging). A feature where users can record a short message to send to others. It would help save time and make it a lot easier for some people to send messages without having to type everything out. What are you guy’s thoughts?

    I would love that :3 Sometimes if you have something big to say, sending voice messages could be a more easier way to communicate (: Hopefully you will add this function soon <3

    Hi discord...please can you add this option....for us to send a voice note.....

    As you know discord is being used for many different projects. We have a particular project that is running a neighborhood watch. The ability to send a voice note in an emergency situation, a call out for a theft, hijacking, etc makes a world of difference...

    Current our patrollers are using whatsapp to fulfill this function...it would be great if discord adds a voice note feature just like whatsapp for our purpose...

    Basically every other messaging app has this. Please add it, otherwise it's harder to convince people to switch to discord.

    there is a work around since this has been requested for 3 years and no result, its become clear that discord cant do it so i have a solution (for ios at least ive yet to test it on android or others) for this work around i used whatsapp
    1: have yourself as a contact
    2: voice message yourself 
    3: forward to the person you want to send the voice message
    i hope this helps any one asking this same question since discord can't add it like other mobile apps

    notice : on iphone and probably on samsung you wont be able to listen to it like you do on pc so keep in mind even though you can send to listen to it you'll need to get on pc or download a nother softwear to open the mp3 file that is posted i will experiment some more see what i can come up with
