new ui changes
This is nothing more than my honest opinion.
So i cannot help but notice that the Discord team has made an amazing job of adding new interesting things to the platform and making it all look very attractive. But i think things reached a point that's too far.
My main complaints are about the Home page (the first screen when you launch Discord).
In the Friends tab, all your offline friends appear in the "Online" tab. there is absolutely no difference from the "All" tab anymore apart from one single spacer. in my opinion it was a lot better before, when only online friends showed up, a lot cleaner and prettier. Next up, on the right side there's the "Active now" section where we can see who is playing what. Not only is this displeasing to my taste, but it is redundant since not only can i see my online friends already and what they are playing, but there is also the "Recent activity" section (if i remember correctly that is the name) from the Games tab (which i have opted to disable since i have no use for it). This activity section brings nothing new, but instead adds up to the feeling of a way too crowded interface.
Next up is the brand new "Nitro tab", which cannot be hidden in any way and is an absolute eye sore. It belongs in the settings and it should stay there and there alone. I seriously appreciate all the hard work involved in this, but i very much preferred the interface as it was a few days ago, and would like a setting that would disable all the extras recently added (many would probably enjoy the possibility to customize as well).
All i wish for is that Discord will not follow in the footsteps of other platforms that ruined their experience with an awful interface (looking at you twitter).
I hope my honest opinion will be useful for you and invite everyone to share theirs.

I agree with you, Charmie.
No point of showing offline friends in the online tab.
That Nitro thing to the left has nothing to do there.
That "Active now" thing is just wasting space, and in my case doesn't even work. It just shows "No one is playing.." even if friends are playing something, and we can already see what friends play without that list anyway.
And now friends list no longer shows mutual servers.11 -
I agree.

I agree, and a lot of people do. But... do the devs even listen to these things?

They do, but you generally need quite a few votes first. Seeing as this has 15 currently it does seem on track to be considered.

Hopefully they'll listen! I've noticed several posts in the API feedback section about this.
The "see what games your friends are playing!" is seriously redundant. It's already available as a status. It's just making a waste of space and aggravating me with how inefficient it is. There could be a whole other column of friends. Particularly for people who have a lot of friends due to making them in a lot of servers. More friends per screen view on the Friends tab would be awesome. And the Nitro button really does belong on the Settings page, not under the Friends button.

Absolutely agree! I actually thought my discord was bugged or glitched out when it stopped showing the Activity tab, Pleaseee bring it back :(
