While I think that the boosting-system is an interesting approach for people to support their favourite Discord servers do I have the feeling, that it still favours more the Nitro users than those without it.
Like mentioned do I have the believe, that the boost rewards favour more the Nitro users than the normal ones, which are often more common on a normal Discord (Not counting Emote Discords of course).
Boost rewards include an increase in emotes you can have on a Discord, which again, favours more the Nitro users than the normal ones.
I get it, that you want to get some revenue for the stuff you offer and that you want to reward Nitro users for boosting, but aren't you already giving more than enough for Nitro users who just buy Nitro? Like Custom discrim, animated avatars, using emotes on other Discords, etc.
You constantly leave out the biggest part of your entire platform: The normal user without Nitro.
Buy boosts for no reward
I sound like a broken record here, but this is because it is a seriously unbalanced thing. People can directly buy boosts, which isn't a bad thing in the first place. The issue comes with the fact that, again, the boost rewards favour the Nitro user more than the normal ones.
More emotes for them to use, Streaming in higher quality, ...
The average user gets no real reward (other than a higher bitrate and limit for file uploads which isn't THAT special) for buying boosts to support their favourite Discord server(s), They spend money to retrieve features from which at least a 3rd is (partially) unusable (The emotes one).
What solution would there be?
My idea is to rewamp the 3rd boost level a bit to get some rewards that benefit the normal user too and give an actual goal for why they should boost.
Unlocking the 3rd boost tier of a Discord would unlock Nitro chat features for non-nitro users. This would mean that people without Nitro could use animated Emotes from the boosted Discord, on that same Discord (Meaning they still can't use it outside of the boosted Discord, preventing a "cheap" way of Nitro.)
This would give the normal user a clear reason why to support that particular Discord with a boost, as I'm sure everyone wants to try out those fancy, animated emotes that taunt them all the time.
In my opinion would this improve the boosting and actually give other peoples a reward too and not always favour Nitro people. Take this from an "Early Supporter" that still has Nitro to this day...
