Remove 2FA or give us a way to get it removed

I'm annoyed at the fact that if you lose your 2FA through no fault of your own you just have to give up and throw away however many years you have in said account. I get the privacy and security stuff but surely you can sort out a way for us to get around it if the worst happens, I've screwed myself over by making a new account and linking my phone number to the new one now so it's only my email linked but still, 8 years I'm throwing away all because of a stupid 2FA lockout I couldn't prevent
