A way to block server admins from changing your nickname

Should there be a way for people to block server admins from changing ones nicknames if it is undesired? I have been in several servers where this turned into a form of harassment, which would just sour the whole experience for me. The only counterargument I've heard for this is inappropriate names, which is a really dumb argument. If the name they have is inappropriate, then having them change to stay in the server or be kicked should be a really easy solution.
