New channel status is outrageous

I don't want it, I didn't ask for it. It compromises my privacy, I don't want everyone to see I'm somewhere in the server.

  I would like to add that there would nothing inherently wrong with this feature if I could just change the default setting. The fact that it's automatic is the problem.
