How many people get their username stolen because they fell for the forbidden image?

I wonder how many of you fell victim to the banned image on Discord?

I've been ghosted by support for 3 weeks now even though I provided them with a lot of proof, constantly reopening tickets and I think if we all make LOTS of noise about this issue we could have a small chance of getting unbanned. I've already read that a lot of people fell for this method which is carried out by scammers to get hold of good usernames (mine was “77”). It's ridiculous that so many people are falling for this and are getting ignored by discord. I'm sure most of us are innocent, I've had my account for 7 years without being flagged but I fall for this stupid scam once and all my achievements, servers and friends tied to my account are gone.
Well done, Discord! You are going to have a lot of work checking and unbanning all of your false banned users by hand.

lol sounds about right. Probably is an automated response. My ticket assigned to Gunter got activity again yesterday. Once upon a time I was hopeful that meant a person was working on it. Now I know better. My account will be gone tmr too :) Meanwhile the person who scammed me is still on their journey without consequence and even changed their username.

oh also the report I made to the family safety /whatever ticket option got the following response (they finally responded but to my new account's ticket). This is where I linked these forum posts and reported the scam itself that exploits child p images.
TLDR: we can't report the scam. The only way would be to get invite to the server, know what you are there for and report the original captcha post. But that might have been made a bot or the account that posted it was already disabled. .. lol BUT EVEN THEN, they at best might delete the server and ban everyone associated, but as we know, those ppl can just make new accounts and a new server and continue.

Well I thought they had the power to view chat messages, but now I wonder. Because they ask for screenshots and so on. You can't just guide them or tell them what to look at.
Imagine if you could just VC with live support and share screen. How fast things could get resolved. It's just too easy. The time wasted typing messages and trying to understand what is being said and reported could be solved by a feature they built into their platform.

They do have our chat logs. Everything we sent is sent to their databases which is why our account is “deleted” but only important information like gmail, passwords, etc. Everything else like chatlogs and discord group are still there in the database

They are restricting my access to the support site lmao wtf. After I sent that message above it won't let me in the site. had to use a VPN to get here again

I know they have the chat logs and data - I just wonder what their access to it is like. I imagined they could just pull up my account and see everything I see when I'm on my account. But perhaps they don't get an organized view of it. Honestly, I don't know why I'm bothering to give them the benefit of the doubt. It's just hard to accept they have been this bad with support for years and still haven't done anything about it when there are so many obvious ways to offer the best support.

I can see why they want to delete the account but honestly though we reserve the right to keep the username and get some information on what server we joined lol. Discord does have our chatlogs saved so I dont know why they cant exam the chatlogs but then again, if they do it for one then they have to do it for all.
This incident really did open my eyes on how Discord is operating and defintely prep me for the future to come. Discord wont be here for more than 3 years if things doesnt change soon. They are pushing people away from the platform AND losing money.
EDIT: Wondering if a ticket is assign to Gunter or whatever, what does it mean? In process of deletion then? Probably could keep an eye on it and see if you could get your username back lol.

It was 14 days ago that it got assigned and today my account will be deleted. In my bbb complaint, they had said they checked and confirmed my violation on both Dec 25th and Jan 10th. Ofc they didnt actually but that would be the dates I posted the image and the date assigned to Gunter.

my last slither of hope lol: my username still shows up in a server that I own. Sometimes when I click it it shows my username still and other times it shows as deleted user blah blah. So perhaps this is why the username is not available yet and maybe the account being in the deleted phase is why it doesnt accept friend requests. Not sure what that can mean though. If this si true I'm not sure at what time the name would become available. Perhaps another 2 weeks from now.

Marsarita LIT LIT LIT Defintely sucks but best thing to do is try again and again. It's still in the deletion process. I was think if you could register a new account under your old email and try to get the name back that way.

Marsarita LIT LIT LIT I’m sorry to say it but someone definitely sniped the handle already and probably set it so the account can’t receive friend requests from strangers. I also still see my old account in my server I think thats a bug because when I DM that account it says “deleted user”. Feels bad but I think we just gotta move on and maybe keep re-opening our appeals once in a while…

If you dm the account and it says deleted user, does the message go through or not? If it doesn't, then your account is still in the process of deletion lol.

Luffy I thought I could, but my email wont work. It says invalid login when I try to log in. But if I try to make a new account, it says email is already registered. So it seems the email is still in their system. I wonder if it needs another 14 days or something so I'm checking everyday
77 ur probably right :( Still going to give it a shot just cuz. I am def gonna keep my ticket going - there's still a deleted user tag to the account so if by some slim chance a person answers, I can at least give them the new handle on that account when they say there is no account. A waste of time yea but it's something to do when I'm contemplating life lol

Luffy The message did go through. I don't have any other person I know with a deleted account to confirm I can't message an actual deleted one though
Probably also a bug but it does show my username here again by chance
Edit: I should say the friend request sent was back when I made my new account. So that's been pending for the past month- not a new request

My username doesn't show anymore today. Just deleted user.
Update on ticket reporting this scam from my main account (it got a different answer 3 weeks later): I hope they really are investigating, but also not so optimistic as I've seen people say they got responses like this and no action. But at least it was finally answered I guess.
