Conditional Roles for Server and/or Onboarding

It would make the onboarding experience so much better if there was a way to only give users an onboarding screen if they choose a specific role on one screen. For instance, let's say one screen ask the user if they are a star wars or star trek fan which assigns them one of the two roles, then on the next screen, let's say they chose star wars, it would have another screen the delves deeper asking if they'd like to be notified of star wars related content. Then if they do, they are assigned a role that is sub-role of the star wars role. Currently, I achieve this by having multiple top level roles for the different types of notifications on my server, but in theory they could have the notification role for star wars without having the star wars role. Plus, I assign these roles in reaction role messages in each category, but I'd rather give them the opportunity to choose these roles in the onboarding process because the reaction role message is easily overlooked.

I hope this makes sense, it feels and looks like word vomit. Basically I just want to assign roles based on other roles.
