Wrongfully Suspended Discord Account, No Human Review of Appeals
Hey everyone,
I have absolutely no clue how else I can approach this issue…
I wanted to share my frustrating experience in the hopes that someone can help or at least shed some light on what to do next in case someone went through this and recovered their account.
Recently, my 8-year-old Discord account (not a single violation) was permanently suspended after what I believe was a mishandled series of violations related to a single attachment I posted.
Here’s what happened:
- I shared the infamous GIF from No Text To Speech's warning video, completely not realizing it's it, which I immediately deleted after my friend told me to immediately delete because it's it. I received a temporary 1-day limitation instantly upon posting it as a result, as a “broke the rules for Child Safety”, which I accepted and still accept as fair.
- But get this, right after I deleted the GIF (30 minuts after initial posting and temporary limitation strike) I got a second strike for the same GIF and was permanently suspended. Why?? How?? Nobody knows, even Discord doesn't know. According to Discord’s Terms of Service, it should have been one strike per violation and that GIF serves 1 day attachment ban as I initially got, but I was hit with two for the same action.

I’ve been trying to appeal through the proper channels for the last 14 days, but I only get automated responses. The Clyde bot keeps coming and claiming I’m temporarily limited, but I’m actually permanently suspended. My tickets are immediately closed by the Clyde bot, and no human seems to be reviewing them.
I've tried everything:
- Reaching out through different support categories, but the bot detects that my issue belongs in “Appeals” and redirects me there, only to close my tickets.
- Appealing multiple times—each attempt being met with the same automated response and no human intervention.
- Even a human agent that I managed to contact went silent after suggesting I keep replying to the closed tickets, which leads to the same bot response and dead-end.
At this point I've made over 20+ tickets, all in varying section but most in Appeals section. What’s really concerning is that I’m now nearing the deadline for automatic account deletion. If my case isn’t properly reviewed before then, I’ll lose my account and all its history forever. This account holds significant connections and history from my time on Discord, many friends, servers I own, chats, pictures and videos are there, all safely stored at the time without ever thinking of such a situation, and losing it would be a hugely devastating blow.
It's been 14 days of radio silence from Trust & Safety. I messaged Discord Support Twitter multiple times, they only messaged once, stating this:
It's dumb and ironic, considering this is the situation:
I’ve followed all the guidelines and made sure to stay within the rules, but it feels like I’m stuck in a loop where no one is listening. It feels like I'm arguing with bots for two weeks.
Other users who shared the same GIF haven’t faced similar penalties, which adds to the confusion and frustration. The guy who posted that GIF to my server got not a single strike, nor the server or any of its members, and none of the members made any comments about the GIF being that GIF. In fact most of them laughed at it, me included, so I decided to share it to my friend some time later during a conversation for some laugh, and that happened. Other people in No Text To Speech's video's comments sections also stated only getting 1-day attachment ban, so this must definitely be a bug on Discord's end (haven't tried posting it in Bugs section though, although will probably get auto-closed as “Appeals”-relevant).
And lastly, my last ditch effort was to make a meta ticket specifically addressing Discord Support as a Technical Issue itself, submitted it in the Technical Issues section. There's this:
Nothing so far after this. Ticket still open, some tickets from 14 days ago are miraculously still open, rest closed by bots and off-category humans alike.
Has anyone else dealt with a similar situation? How did you manage to get actual human support involved? Because I am sure once a human reviews this it will be lifted. I am just stuck with bots and Discord putting too much trust in them to not bother manually checking these escalations which is insane.
Any advice on escalating this matter before my account is deleted would be immensely appreciated.

Yeah, I'm getting the same responses as you are. Btw, I genuinely have no idea what I sent to get banned

I've gotten the same here, they didn't even remove anything when I was banned like for a lot of people and it happened out of nowhere. Not gotten a single response from a person once, Clyde says the same thing over and over, and discord support on twitter has yet to respond to me. It's been near a week and I've lost hope for the most part.
