I agree with void this feture is in 90% of all social medias and I have been trying to contact them using Twitter and email to take a look at this but all I get is that "they look at suggestions every day"

This feture is important as some people want to use multiple accounts without having to use canary and stable or web. I personally would use it to test my servers from a member side view to see if everything is working correctly

Better handling of multiple accounts would be a significant improvement for privacy.

It would be great to have this. I run two Discord accounts (one for speaking, one for listening and funnelling the sound into OBS); having two actual instances of Discord running is a bit heavy on resources, especially on the streaming computer.

I would love to have a multi-account feature as well. Right now I have an acccount I use for game (design). I want a separate account with another email address for work. I mean, if I can have that in Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Google, etc., why not on Discord as well without having to resort to either login out and back in or using a beta version of Discord.

I agree that this would be a great feature. If you have multiple accounts you want to use then you can easily switch between them without having to log out and then log back in each time.

Really would love this option. How Slack does it is great as the login is based on the server and i can see all of the ones I 'login' to regardless of the account used. Allows me to have work and personal servers all in one spot.

ik my linked alts suggestion could help with this if implemented, and i still think its a good idea even if linking alts is declined

Hey there AJ Vixen! You can currently have up to 5 accounts logged in at the same time, as long as you're using different platforms of discord.

    What does this mean?

Well you have your discord stable release build, but then you also have PTB, Canary, Browser Versions, and iOS/Android. (Yes that's six, but most people only have 1 phone.)

All of these can be ran simultaneously, so that you can enjoy multiple different discord environments.

Уважаемые разработчики, добавьте пожалуйста возможность быстро переключаться между профилями в приложениях на  ПК и телефонах. Это повысит комфорт использования вашего приложения.

I've been waiting for a while for this to happen.

I'd love to migrate the company I work for from Slack to Discord, and this is the feature that would make it happen.

@Stelard When you open up Discord, it shows the last state of your session: your selected server, selected channel, messages, users, everything. I'm assuming the same thing would also happen when switching between accounts. Isn't this functionally similar to having simultaneous accounts?

Or are you suggesting like, the ability to have multiple windows at once with different accounts? That sounds useful, but I have a feeling Discord closed the other issue with the same initial mindset as mine ("multiple simultaneous accounts" is too vague)

@nuei If the account swap were instant, and I could still receive incoming messages from account A while using account B, then it might be serviceable.

Regarding my other suggestion, I went into detail on how it would work for about a screen of text. How you'd decide which account to add a friend as, which account to join a server as, options for how to handle and prevent abuse, etc.

As others mentioned, I have multiple accounts, one for online friends and another for more local friends. I know the Reddit app lets users manage multiple accounts. Slack essentially lets me join multiple servers (called workspaces) and create fresh profiles each time.

If they could add server folders, this should be the next step. Discord, please.

This is easy enough for me to work around on my PC, but there is no work around for mobile devices, and that is where it will be most valuable. I use it most on my phone, but only one account because switching is such a pita right now.
To those saying it would be easy to code this - you have no idea what you are talking about. I say this with 35 years of professional software development. That said, it would be nice to hear they are looking into this.

add a way to have your servers on your profile of discord at least 1 or 2. that way people can join your server if they want. too many servers are saying to not have ads anywhere making it hard to gain members.

Im discouraging it and yet you will have to actually MAKE an entire discord
So mostly it just might be like BetterDiscord

@Audhumbla I'm afraid I have to disagree with you. The use-case of a shared family computer is already well handled by Windows, Linux, and probably MacOS (no personal experience but I would be shocked if it wasn't the case). Give each family member their own user account -- without a password for the kids if necessary -- and use fast user switching to swap between them. This keeps everything each user has together.

What Discord needs is a means to allow users to have multiple accounts logged in simultaneously. Or multiple public profiles per account as per my sadly deleted original suggestion.

Of course, there's no reason they can't support both, but considering it's taken this long for them to do anything I worry that they won't ever support both. So I lean towards the one that is not already feasible.
