Verification roles don't work once you assign a role to a member
So, I have a server, and in that server there was a troll who would rejoin with alts and spam pings over and over. So I decided to make the verification levels higher in an attempt to stop him. Yet, no matter how high I set them, they didn't do anything at all.
I didn't pay to much attention to this until recently, when I was experimenting with the levels and it turns out that giving a role to someone completely nullifies the verification levels applied on them. So, if you always give a role to newcomers or have a bot that assigns them instantly once they join the server, verification levels will be useless.
I understand why you would set it like that, you think that it may be good to have roles nullify the levels so you can set them high but give roles to people who don't meet the verification requierements, yet you want to talk with on your server regardless. However, there's a better way of doing so. You could just set "Nullify verification levels" as a role permission which can be activated or de-activated. That way, roles will only nullify these levels if the owner wants them to.
I hope you can fix this, because it's a very big problem considering that many servers automatically give roles to newcomers.

They actually already inform that roles nullify verification level https://i.imgur.com/kucMopA.png 0 -
Huh. They do. I had read it at some point, I don't know how I managed to skip that part. And in fact when i asked discord on twitter they didn't tell me about this and instead they encouraged me to make this post. Now I feel dumb.
I'm still going to keep my post up because i think that it would be better for it to be a role permission and not something all roles do.
