Please support Google Voice
My primary phone service is Google Voice, I want to use it with your service, please do not tell me I have an "invalid phone number". I'm happy to jump through whatever hoops you put up, just let me jump through them... I can verify with a land line, or I can answer the phone and follow instructions given. I can even receive a code sent as a text message and type it into a web site.

Discord is the only service that won't accept my Google Voice number. Even my banks and crypto exchanges don't pull this crap. Change this, now.

Bump. I use GV as well, its annoying that I cant use it for Discord verification. I have my old number on my account (its been recycled to someone else now). I have 2FA setup with an authentication app (thankfully, that works) but I cannot remove or even change my phone number? BS.

Locked out of chatting in the Snowsgiving server because of this. Even Nitro has no effect. It's extremely frustrating that servers require phone verification, and infuriating that Discord doesn't even do it right. I'm going to continue just not verifying and being excluded from some communities until Discord fixes this.

Same here. Some bigger servers require verification before users can send messages, and it’s frustrating.

Agreed. As I mentioned in my previous comment, it supports a cell phone number from Google Fi. So it should have 0 issues supporting Google Voice.
Heck, even Fi allows Google Voice now directly in their setup to allow a user to use 2 numbers from (ostensibly) the same server set.

I agree as well, I do not have access to a mobile and because of this I am locked out of joining lots of servers. Google Voice should be allowed, many sites and businesses already use it.

Very sad that Discord discriminates against GV. I just switched to a data-only plan. I don't have a mobile number to give.

if it makes you feel better, I can't even use an AT&T mobile number, it keeps saying it's invalid and not getting any response on my main account.

I've used Google Voice as my phone number for 12 years and now I can't use Discord. Thanks for the support!

5 years later, no support. companies are using discord for support that I don't have access to.

5 years… 5 extremely long years… this thread has been going since before Covid, and since then, Google Voice and VOIP remains to not be supported by discord. Come on guys. Everyone EXCEPT for you even supports VOIP. I use it to handle my bank account, signal, hell, even steam! Quit being cavemen on this and add it already!
