Automatic role assignments

I'm looking for a way to setup my discord where when someone tries to join they have to input a Role of there choice, in this case a tribe name. And that will also allow them access once completed access to the rest of the server pages. Basically until they fill out required info they can not leave the welcome channel. I have been looking at bots and such for about 4 hours now with no luck. And help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
