Request of removing 2FA through Discord Support.
I've recently had a friend who has been trying to get his discord account back as a end result of him selling his old phone and buying a new phone and forgetting on having 2FA on for both his account and server also not remembering his backup codes too.
He managed to get into contact with Discord Support to see if there was a way to get his account back and get the 2FA removed so he could log in and redo it on his new phone. Unfortunately as I've read this is not possible through the troubleshooting mentioned at the very bottom of the same page.
I really would appreciate if there was a service that discord would allow to be able to at least keep track of a account that's verified from the email properly to know that it's the actual user who's requesting to have the 2FA removed from the account and or server so that when the account would run into a issue in the circumstance of someone forgetting their 2FA backup codes and or in the event of a PC becoming corrupted , broken phone , new phone or whatever that it can be solved.
I've actually had problems like this before on other platforms where I've contacted their customer service support and who actually have gotten the info they needed from the account as of that account's verified email address and even sending a email with a specific number to return back to customer support as a type of verification to know it's the actual person and manually removed it from the account so they could get access to the account and redo the whole process again.
On behalf on my friend who's account is unattainable at the moment this is VERY important to have because usually if any sort of discord account is lost all the friends they got , servers they're in or even their Nitro subscription which by the way if the account is not accessible or locked the user has no way of even canceling said subscription without even getting access to the account which I feel is not good at all for security or safety of the account without access or proper help through Discord Support to retrieve the account back to the original user safely.
Discord is a really dope VOIP program and company as well but I feel this really needs to be top priority to be implemented properly for the safety and security of Discord users and their own accounts when in the inconvenience of losing access to it through 2FA.
Hopefully this gets implemented in the future for Discord thank you.

The very fundamental concept of 2FA is to ensure a person is who he say he is, by proving that you own the device, being able to remove 2FA without actually passing it is a simple breach into the security system.
There are Backup Codes for those who use 2FA and it serves as a redundancy In case of your mention scenarios, which are designed to be printed or written in a safe place. When you setup 2FA, You are basically telling discord that I will have either my device or backup codes with me at all times, and that not to trust my email only on my account, as well as to tell discord never in Any Circumstance trust anyone without the second factor.
If your friends needs to cancel his nitro, he can always do it by blocking transactions from discord from your payment network.

@Twilight Understandable. thank you for the detailed insight and information as well! I'll make sure to let my friend know about this information so he can be more careful next time!
