That is bad, because I worked really hard on my bot and now is Verified and I cant get the badge to show my hard work :(

Bruh it was one of the main motivators to creating a bot. I put in all the work to do it and some people wanna be recognised for that and feel good about themselves, yeah maybe the bot still get's it's tick but I want mine too just to say that I actually went through all that work of creating a bot, publishing and getting it verified. Imagine if someone went to war and didn't get the badges for it, sure this is on a very miniature scale but the concept is still there.

I agree, Discord should either remove the badge completely or bring it back.

Speaking from a person's perspective (myself), who has the Early Verified Bot Developer Badge, yes it seems cool to have a badge, it actually makes you stand out from other users & has the ability for you to be recognised that you are an authentic bot developer. HOWEVER, the fact Discord has removed the ability for you to get the badge now, and renamed it as Early Verified Developer, is completely unfair. Discord should bring back the badge, however they should make the expectations higher, so fraudulent applications can be avoided.

The badge was designed to recognise you as an authentic developer, but Discord Verification isn't about the badge, it is about creating a useful bot for your users, and representing it as authentic. I also agree with everyone, for the fairness for every bot developer out there in the Discord Community, to remove the badge completely, OR make the requirements more strict so only more older, popular & authentic bots can be verified, and receive less fraudulent applications. That way, true developers & authentic bot owners can be verified, meaning the people who have spent countless hours & unbelievable amounts of money on hosting, & buying things like domains can have that "medal", "achievement" and "recognition" they deserve.

I am disappointed in Discord for this change, and filled with anger of the people who went to extreme levels just for the badge, I think discord should EITHER remove it completely and give your bot the checkmark only, OR bring it back and make the expectations higher. Now the badge is worthless & it's treated like an "Early Supporter" badge...
It sounds almost as if you got "unverified" or you were "once" verified by naming it Early, the whole point of the badge in my eyes is to recognise ACTIVE bot developers by calling it "Verified Bot Developer".

The fact that Discord did nothing to compensate to users who cannot even get the badge anymore and worked SO HARD for their bot's verification is even more disappointing.

Discord is a great platform for chatting & sharing our cool bot projects. This change was disappointing, Discord, please step up your game.

Well , i don't think that this decision what the wisest , i see that the badge was a HUGE motivation for all bot devs (including myself) and seeing it get removed just because some minority of fraudulent users bypass the verification system ... that's taking the easy way out ,and  that's on you discord.

I kinda don’t like the fact that because of some people just working for the badge only, people who work hard legitimately get put to the side as well - I was making a bot and my intention was to help the mods on my friends server and I also realized I could help everyone. The badge doesn’t matter too much, but still after I got my bot on to 75 servers it would pay off to have a nice badge and all, plus I helped people with the bot

Please add the badge back discord

    Disagree.

The issue is that you're developing something for a badge.

yes 100%  discord needs to recheck this one as the community is kinda forcing them to as we all want it back and would be a great addition. it's just a badge, why they removed it isn't really that reasonable, sure people are making fake bots for it but it's just a cosmetic so there is really no reason to remove it. I better see that [not planned] turn into a [planned] soon! edit: I like how the people who disagree with bringing the badge back got nailed by downvotes reducing them to the negative numbers :)

    To be honest
If discord takes out this badge out of the system

They are basically destroying more then 50% of those who are motivate to make bots

If that’s there desire , let it be. But they shouldn’t do that , they basically destroying the bot community

I agree! I think that without this badge it just gives no reward to the hard working developers and it just makes you look like an ordinary discord user when you have a famous bot but you get no credit! Yes there maybe fraud but I think that Discord can up their game and be able to fit in the badge so you are a unique user on Discord. I know that there is a badge next to your bots name but that is it, they should give out more credit to the hard working developers.

This is a big mistake discord is making . It’s like only now people who have bots in 100+ servers will be known and used .

Even if the whole discord community agrees with me discord won’t do anything .

I hope you're wrong on the fact that discord won't do anything. they have to listen to the community. yes, just because a few people made rotten applications, doesn't give them an excuse to get lazy and stop the badge as a whole. people poured HOURS of hard work and go seriously ripped off when the badge is no longer available. this is a true story: I myself am a bot dev who put in hours and hours making my bot run the way I want it to. I cannot believe discord took the lazy way out and removed the badge. so disappointed, we're missing out on SO much.

About RabbitTank's comment: This means nothing.  Your bot having a badge doesn't link back to you, the creator, and people don't know who created any bots that are not on botlist sites.  There are literally accounts for __sale__ now, rather then detectable fraudulent bots. This should be reverted.

I do want the badge but the problem is I make small bots for the server only. The reason I want the badge is that people will Dm me to make custom bots.

Seeing this badge I was trying to finish my bot in hopes of getting it, but as soon as you stopped with it again I haven't worked on bots since.

I understand that giving a badge can often mean creating a bot just to get it, but I think not giving credit to developers who often create this content for free isn't a good policy. Why not add in the bot itself a taq for creators, so in addition to shared servers a "Team" tab. In this way no one has badges but whoever wants can know who created that bot and the developers will feel gratified.

Discord stole the Badge from me after i was removed from its team for 2 days, getting added back to the team did notyhing.

And its super unclear to me why discord straight up REFUSES to do anything in these cases besides having the possibility to do so.
