Channel invite default expiration length surprise

We recently got surprised when we straigttforwardly created an invite link and expected it to expire in 24 hours but rather got one that expires in 6 hours. The localised text claims that the length would be 1 day. Is the default a dynamic thing that varies and does it get localised to reflect all lengths?
