Specific Server (chat) Notification Digest Settings

Is it possible to receive a notification digest every hour or maybe every day for a specific server (chat)?

For instance, instant notifications can be just as annoying as regular text messages. Muting the server for a given amount of time would sort of accomplish this but is very manual. I'm looking for a more automated approach. This way I don't get pinged 4 times every 3 minutes when people respond in short form. For some servers (chat) I'd like to get notified once at the end of the day so I can reply at my leisure.

This would almost accomplish a private social media network. People 'post' to the server (chat) with the understanding that this particular server doesn't warrant an instant response. Other people check in when they feel like it, they may choose to get instant push notifications, or they may choose to get a single notification at a specific day/time. Much less pressure than instant messaging/chat/text.
