Copy And Paste issues
So I was chatting with my friend on Discord and for some reason I can't right click and paste on my mouse anymore it's not showing in the chat bar. I wanted to show her a video but I can only do it via keyboard controls. Is this happening for everyone else?
Oh and I can't use the Search bar either

Another user in a server i'm in reported this issue:
We found a fix that worked for them, go into your settings > text & images > turn off "Preview emojis, mentions, markdown as you type" and then restart discord
And if it works for you too, might be good to report it in the feedback and testing servers

Can confirm turning off "preview emojis" does fix it so that is a good sort-term fix. But the issue appears to be related to chrome only. I can paste (through right clicking) on the discord app just fine. And other(s) (Soujourer) confirmed it works on Firefox. Doesn't work on internet explorer... but discord isn't supported on IE. What a surprise right?

I am glad i looked this up...i was getting annoyed since I am having other pc problems at the moment. I hope they fix this..how is a mom suppose to share annoying youtube videos with her kids? :D

Copy/paste is indeed NOT working for in-browser Discord on Chrome.... It's a real nuisance, devs please fix this soon!

This just started happening to me Friday morning. I can't paste anything from clipboard into overlay chat, but can in the app. Also, when I'm in overlay and go into settings, I can't close the settings window and have to completely exit discord.

I cant paste in discord its pretty annoying as me and my friends share memes and pictures sometimes and i can't join in i can copy and then paste else where such as maybe the search bar but i can never seem to paste into discord chats or search this has been happening for a while but i thought it would pass how do i fix with or when will it be fixed?

I use the chrome browser.. I've never had a copy and paste issue with lines of text, But I have an issue were I try to copy the video link and the entire menu that used to appear is just gone! This needs to be fixed.

So I figured out a hack. If you copy/paste into text and it brings up the pop up window (turns text into png or whatever), paste your text again in the comment section, select all, copy, cancel the post, then past the text in the chat....boom, it pastes text.
For some reason, it doesn't seem to like to paste text from outside of Discord (ie Word).0 -
I just tried to copy a line of text form Mac based Mircosoft Word or Powerpoint into Discord and it only can paste the text as a png. No such problem from Mac-based Excel or Browser based Word. A pasted text remain editable text in Discord message. Friend tried from PC-based Word and that's ok too. Is this a bug?

I can't copy and paste and it is really annoying discord fix your stuff right now I wanna copy and paste a cool font for my name but I can't do it and it will copy and paste in the server's chat that I was last in so please fix this problem Discord .

Has there been any headway with this? For a text heavy server I like to write in Word and then post in Discord, but it always shows up as a .png so I need to post it in some 3rd app like Grammarly first.

Still an issue to this day, its absolute madness. Only fix is to make a new account so far everytime this happens, I have been through 6 accounts so far.

I can't "copy/paste"; however, I did find a workaround. Not sure if it will work for everyone but it worked for me.
-Type message in Word (or any other app)
-Highlight the text. (Do not copy)
-Click highlighted text; hold mouse button down; and drag text into discord message box.
Again, I just tested it a couple of times and the "highlight/click/drag" works for me. "Copy/paste" still does not work.

Yes, it doesn't work on he browser and only works on native apps like desktop. I have 2 accounts. one on the desktop app, and it works perfectly fine. The one I use on the web (chrome/edge) doesn't take copy/paste via clipboard items. It's a pain, i have to save the image, and drag & drop in order to work :(

why isn't this fixed yet? discord working w/govt to make sure certain people can't just paste from the buffer, has to hit HD first?. . . or what? the suggestion to turn off a / preview setting doesn't work . . .

Setting `dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled` to `true` in Firefox solves this issue for me. Nevertheless, other websites work flawless with the setting set to false.

i'm also having the same issue 3 years on; i use the web app on edge and suddenly it isn't letting me paste links at all. i've tried logging out and closing the browser and re-starting the computer, as well as using ctrl + v, but nothing seems to work?

I can't paste some links in discord on edge, so I use discord app on my dell laptop, and it only work there and not on my edge browser. why it is happens to me, I think it happens when I used the edge extension ads blocker. it must have some virus in on it or it just some glitch or somethings, I honestly don't know what going on.
