Server Templates
In my opinion, it would be cool if you could create a server and export it as a file. (MyServerTemplate.wumpus)
This way, other people could download your template as a starting point and it would also work as a Server Backup in the event of a massive raid. Here's what it would and wouldn't save:
It would save:
- Channels
- Categories
- Roles
It wouldn't save:
- Server Boosts
- Members
- Partner/Verified status
It would be a very simple feature, but I think it would work extremely well!

Perhaps they were working on an idea like this and decided that the whole coronavirus situation would be a good opportunity to try it out? Well, it seems to work well! All we need now is some sort've dropdown menu or something to choose from a selection of templates. I think this is a very cool idea!

Now they added it, but I personally disagree that it should be a feature on every discord server.
Sometimes server owners don't want their server to be completely stolen, atleast not that easily. Of course only people with manage server permissions can create a template of their server, but sometimes they have to give those perms to certain members, and still dont want their server to be copied. Maybe the server owner should be able to choose if he wants others being able to create templates of it, or maybe only server owners could create templates of it and not everyone with manage server permission.
Just my personal opinion, I simply dislike the fact that servers can be that easily stolen now.

I didn’t expect this to be added...wow...
But Depthstrider4, why would normal members need Manage Server permissions? All it does is let you change the server icon, name, region, and add bots. You should under no circumstances give non-staff members the permission or they will abuse it, but you are entitled to your own opinion.

No its not about that TheGamerAdmin, its that people with admin permissions and manage server permission can completely steal a server with a few clicks. If anything, this feature should, in my opinion, be only available to the server owners. I do not give any non-staff or in my case non-trusted members permissions, but still I dont want servers to be completely stolen. If peoplpe want own good-looking servers there is many good templates, especially with the discord bot Xenon, but my own I wouldnt want to be just completely copied. Its like impersionating a server to me.
