Role Management.
I noticed 2 years ago that such a right as “Role Management” is too strong.
- Why?
The answer is obvious. I wanted the person to be able to change the roles of the participant, BUT not to change the rights to the roles to also create / delete roles. Other rights as I consider it should not have but I have no choice :(
- Why is this necessary?
This is beneficial for security purposes, since if a person wants to harm the server, and having such a right, he can do a lot of damage after which the desire to create something new will not be wanted.
I want to remind you that roles are not only the main powers of this and:
A) Setting the rights of roles on the channel (if there are many channels, this is a very long job).
B) Setting the rights for the role through the bot (I want to note that now you can’t do without bots anymore - it's almost like a new system / site / extension that adds a lot of goodies, etc. And you need to configure the bot to know that the @Moderator = Moderator role and the owner / mute could give this role. Simply put, this is also a difficult process).
Man removing the role will do this x2 damage to the server!
And if you remove all the roles that are available, the damage will be nuclear !!!
- What is your suggestion to fix this?
I propose to divide such a right as Role Management into:
A) Role management, its rights:
1. Create / modify rights / delete roles.
2. The right of silence: change the rights of roles on the channel.
B) Management of participants, his rights:
1. Add / remove roles for the participant.
2. View the item in the server menu "Roles" (ONLY view).
