Ideas from the Esoteric Sloths and Camp Oak Hallows
As so many have said before me, COLLAPSIBLE THREADS and DIRECT, NESTED REPLIES to messages.
Channel header images! Please.
FOLDERS for categories! One additional level of nesting. :)
Image description other than captioning or attached message text! Make images searchable by the file name or descriptive text, this is an accessibility feature.
Once again, I beg on behalf of the Discord user community, for in-Server group video calling.
The ability to hide or turn off viewing of other members' presence/activity in a server, channel, or category. For example, an "Announcements" channel to a large number of members in an even larger server where members can't see who also has viewing permissions for that particular announcement. They only know that they do, and that's all they need to know. Good for classes and groups of students!
The ability to hide messages sent by other members in channels. For example, a "Suggestion Box" channel in a massive server where members can only see the messages they sent to that channel.
Management of members' notification settings. Once again helpful for classes or groups of students, especially in cases where parents are also members. Some people just can't figure out how to set their notifications appropriately, and I as an admin should be able to fix their notifications, channel-by-channel.
Increased nuance on Emoji "management." The ability to grant members the power to add their own emojis, but not manage the emojis of others.
Ability to color-code categories like Roles. Even if it's just a colored interpunct dot beside the gray category title, it'd be handy.

I just discovered Discord because I'll be joining an online course using Discord for paticipants.
I totally agree on the need for DIRECT, NESTED REPLIES to messages.
What is this joke ? It's impossible to nest replies to the posts. This is hell to maintain a support group.
I'm back to Slack right away ! This feature seems highly demanded and highly ignored
But I really like the design, a shame the app is pratically unusable to organise threads.
