Screenshare/video UI suggestions from artist group which migrated from google hangouts.
Hi there!
I had three suggestions from a group that regularly shares our art through discord screenshare. (Apologies if this is the wrong subforum, was unsure if this is a video issue or an overlay issue)
1. Provide a 1fps sharing option.
A lot of screen-sharing doesn't need high frame-rate (like drawing) so this might help reduce bandwidth usage and make it easier for those with worse internet to join in. (Maybe this could be in advanced options to enable to prevent people from accidentally hitting it and wondering why their game is so choppy)
2. Reduce or remove screenspace for users not sharing video.
Its difficult to see multiple screens at the moment (blurring screencaps a bit for privacy):
One suggestion could be:
Although I see how this could be a problem when there's not such a clean division of screens. Another suggestion could be referencing google hangouts for the 1 large screen and being able to click through the lower screens.
3. Add a chat window to the left, and possibly a way to hide the channel and servers to increase screenspace. (hit the top left to reopen the tab)
I'm sure many of these have been suggested before but on the off chance they haven't here they are! At the moment there aren't really many softwares that are adequately supporting group screen-sharing like this. google hangouts was working well for years but recent bugs and discontinued support have made it unusable.
Thank you for your time!

this would really help make group screensharing much more comfortable and draw more people to want to make use of it. anything that can be done to make it easy to see all screens and chat comfortably like this would be great :) i know several people would benefit from this
