Let us make games out of discord

Discord Games would essentially be regular servers set up to be played as a game. These servers will be known as “Player Plugs”. Player Plugs will have exclusive features that enable them to turn into games. Server owners and administrators will be able to add collectibles, such as coins, or make new collectibles. The collectibles may use premade discord stamps/symbols, or custom symbols uploaded by owners or administrators, just like emoticons in regular servers.

The owner/administrators could decide how much of any given collectible to start the user out with, and each collectible could also have it’s own effect if the player runs out, such as going back x amount of levels. Levels could be made just like text channels, and to make each level customizable, the background of each level could change to a grassy field or an empty desert, contrary to the monotone dark/light discord themes.

Again, these themes could be premade by discord, or user uploaded backgrounds. Each custom background would likely have to be analyzed through the same system that analyzes photos in DMs to make sure they’re safe for work. And if some people would rather go the opposite route, they could flag their Player Plug as NSFW. Another idea would be the ability to add custom characters.

These custom characters would be similar to bots, because they wouldn’t be real people. They would still appear, and you could join calls with them to hear a pre-recorded voice.

There should be a bank to hold in-game money and other collectibles if the server owner decides to set a limited inventory. The bank can either approve or deny you, and your bank ID (in-game credit card) can get stolen. If you decide not to sign up for the bank/get denied, server owners could have characters with “blackmarket banks”.

There should be day and night versions of each premade theme. There should also be background music (for server admins to) choose from.

When players are making a decision, the server admins could set up a time limit while players are contemplating their options.

There could be an option for the wumpus to display stats in a special stats level/channel, where you could see who has the most of what collectible, who collected the most of x collectible since the last stat report, how many people got past the final level, who beat the most levels in a day, etc. and these stats could be updated every x number of days, weeks, or monthly.

If a player fails, they could be sent to a “game over” channel and not have access to the Player Plug for up to 24 hours. Once a user has beaten 10 Player Plugs created by other users, they will get a special badge next to their username.

List of ideas for server/level goals:
- Poisoning a character
- Paying back a loan shark
- Gathering intelligence (you take a quiz at the end)*
- Escape room

*If you give characters the wrong information, there should be an option to kill off characters who were given wrong info by the player

List of affects that could be assigned to collectibles:*
- Money
- Healing yourself
- Harming others
- Keys for specific uses

*Some collectibles could also be bought using money - and these would just be the properties of the collectibles, they could be named anything and still serve their purpose

Users may only be able to make 1 Player Plug, but can make as many as they please if they purchase discord nitro. Discord is free to use this idea however they like, but if we want this feature to be added (and honestly why wouldn't you), then we gotta upvote this to make sure discord knows this is something we want so they will start working on it.
