The verification of a server is meant for servers that are official though. I believe discord will still partner with you if you aren't official though? You could try that.

You probably didn't read the whole message, did you? partners are for community based servers. Game servers are unique creations managed by their developers and have nothing to do with the game or the publishers / devs of it. They just use it as a portal to connect.. Thats why I deem that they should be qualified for verfication.

I also mentioned e commerce! Basically it would be good if we could have our own in game store inside discord

I did read the whole message, perhaps I didn't fully understand it?

It seems to me like you want unofficial servers to be verified? The point of verification though is to distinguish the official creators and publishers of the game from any unnoficial server. Having unnoficial servers qualify for verification would make this not possible anymore.

Yes, partners are for community based servers, but they also are discord's way of giving a nod to your server and saying 'this one's legit but not official,' which I suggested looking into as a way of avoiding the 'impersonators' that you were worried about in your original post. In addition, I feel that claiming that servers made 'by gamers for gamers' and developed by 'players of the game' would count as made by the community. Are the players of a game not a community after all?

As for e-commerce, I'm quite interested actually! I think it would be great for discord to have some kind of system like buycraft integrated into discord, however I'm not certain that that will happen any time soon, as as soon as discord does something like that they also open themselves up to have fake and scam purchases through that. I would suggest making/getting a bot in the meantime.

If I've said anything wrong, or that you didn't actually mean in your original post, please feel free to clarify.

    Thanks :)

What i mean is to allow game servers to apply for verfication since that discord server is official for their game server. It has nothing to do with publishers or developers of the game itself but it has to do with the publishers / developers of the game server. Yeah they are part of the community of the game but not of their unique creation(game server). Meaning that they are not unofficial when it comes to their server and as I mentioned, game servers are unique creations, they use the assets and the launcher of the game to connect there but they are still original unique creations, nothing can change that. Thats why they should be qualified for verfication.

About scam reports, discord can avoid that by having people to submit an apply to unlock that big buy button for their store channels. Discord will check the server and the history of the person applying and based on that they will decide if they accept or deny that application

Ahh, I see. Perhaps some kind of intermediate verification level particularly for game server servers, rather than partner or verified would be better. I now understand why you want it, however I feel like that's not quite the use of the verifiaction tag. I understand that it might also not be covered by the partner tag too though, so perhaps some intermediate level could be the best option?

Fair point on the ecommerce, discord bots now have to be verified, it probably wouldn't be super duper difficult to add a similar process to store channels

I thought of that but filling discord with lots of different types of applications wouldn't be a good solution. The verfication is the perfect choice as it is made just for that, to verify people's work.

@PROManosWAR I can understand now why you might want it, however I still don't really agree with the concept of giving verification to non-official servers, so I'm not going to upvote your post. Sorry

What a fantastic idea! Including game servers in the verified server program would be a great way to recognize and support the vibrant gaming community on Discord. It's evident that these servers play a crucial role in connecting gamers and fostering unique creations.
