Overlay causing game to crash?

Recently, whenever I play Onmyoji via Steam, if I click between Discord and the game, the game suddenly locks up to the point where I cannot force quit unless I log off and on my PC account. After doing some testing, turning off Overlay makes my game run smoothly again.
