its actually the same if you got 3 invites and each got an own role or if you got 3 roles that all people can assign one of them to themselves.

You can easily take all permissions from @everyone and take everyones role. nobody will be able to do anything anymore except for you (or the server owner) if you got too many ppl to remove the rol...

They could make it async (not all at once). it would reduce the 'spam' (plus maybe also a cooldown like eg once per day or sth like that)
