If your hitting a two thousand character limit, your doing something VERY wrong. It is not normal for a post to be even 300 characters normally, and ive only ever hit the 2k limit when copy-pasting...

You can already suppress @everyone and @here pings, and direct @you pings from server notification settings. but yes, this is a nice idea for organizing servers
