We don’t want iffy workarounds that don’t always work, we want reasonable parity with the desktop version. This feature is long overdue.

The link you provided says it’s not possible to spoiler an image. It’s been more than two years, this function needs to have its priority increased. It’s a ridiculous limitation.

Being able to change a channel to Private after the fact would be so much faster and less fiddly than having to remove permissions from the roles you're trying to keep the channel private from.
