Please Make the Audio/Video Buttons Harder to Accidentally Click
Currently when in an audio/video chat, the various buttons to toggle video, leave etc. appear at the bottom of the panel or window, but auto-hide until you hover over them with a mouse.
But this behaviour makes it ridiculously easy to accidentally click a button, especially when operating with the audio/video chat popped out into its own window, as what appears visually to be a black bar you can click on to focus the window, suddenly becomes a button that you've accidentally clicked, disabling your video, muting yourself, ending the call etc.
What I would like to suggest is a choice of behaviours for the call buttons:
- Auto-Hide (current behaviour).
- Always show.
- Hide buttons (instead of the call buttons, display a show/hide button to show/hide the call buttons).
The third is my preferred option, and I'd like to recommend it be the default, as it makes it a lot harder to accidentally click as if you do hit the show/hide button, all you've done is caused the more "dangerous" buttons to appear or disappear, you haven't accidentally done anything yet (you'd need to click twice in two different locations to mute or leave the call etc.
Also I find the transparency gradient overlay to sometimes be slow and glitchy when the buttons show/hide currently, which is another reason to move away from the weird "show on hover" default behaviour. It's probably a macOS graphics driver issue or something but it just seems like unnecessary bloat that goes weird.
