I'm a member of a discord server with a large number of channels, where I'm only interested in the content of a very small number of them. I check it once every few days to see updates in those channels only. This is a fairly common use case for discord users who frequent a large number of servers.
The HOME channel functionality is both frustrating and unnecessary - I don't want to see an algorithmically re-ordered feed of content from channels I don't care about. The fact that I see content chronologically and can self-select which parts of a server to follow is what makes discord appealing over twitter or facebook.
I very much don't want my client moving from where I parked it to a channel I don't care about, against my consent, every time it happens I feel like something broke or crashed or reset, and I have to go hunt for where I left off.
Every server I'm in with this functionality has a "server suggestions/feedback" channel which is chock full of complaints, people asking to disable this feature, or asking for help in disabling it locally for their client, and the mods of those servers are perpetually frustrated by this, explaining over and over that they didn't add the function, they can't remove the function, and users can't disable the function.
Please allow users to control how this feature acts.
