Username change is more worthless than you think

There are so very few sites that allow users to have the exact name they want thanks to this number system. No one cares about "simplicity" they care about having the exact username they want. I would rather have my little hashtag number than have some inactive nobody take a specific nickname that means a lot to me. You know what's going to happen when you remove numbers? People will be forced to put them in the usernames themselves. There wasn't even anything to be fixed in the first place as I haven't seen anyone complain about the number system. Is the discord team just that bored these days where they have to create problems?

  Agreed, I don't know why they would commit such a hard downgrade to the user experience.

  Yeah, I don't know WHY they think this is a good idea. I don't know if investors are pushing them into this or they just REALLY think the twitter users will want it; I can't tell. Whatever the truth is, the userbase doesn't want it.
