Light mode/Dark mode role colours
A simple way to make it easier for people to read names/roles when using discord in dark and light mode without having to change the role across both styles, as example dark red is almost illegible on dark mode and bright colours like yellow and light red are almost illegible on light mode, (yes there probibally are more people who use dark mode compared to light as it seems to be the default when you install discord but there would be some people who change the theme)
Maybe a solution to this would be automatically select the dark colours when the software detects light mode and light colours when it detects dark mode

The choice of role colors in light mode or dark mode can depend on personal preference and the overall design aesthetic of your application or platform. Here are a few suggestions that you can consider:
Light Mode Role Colors:
- Default: Use a subtle, neutral color like gray or a light shade of blue.
- Administrator/Moderator: Choose a distinctive and authoritative color like dark blue or purple.
- Member/Regular User: Opt for a lighter shade of a color that aligns with your platform's branding or theme.
- VIP/Premium User: Use a special color that stands out, such as gold or a vibrant shade of blue.
Dark Mode Role Colors:
- Default: Select a slightly desaturated or muted color like dark gray or deep navy.
- Administrator/Moderator: Consider using a bold and vibrant color like red, orange, or neon green.
- Member/Regular User: Utilize a contrasting color that still maintains good readability, such as a lighter shade of blue or teal.
- VIP/Premium User: Use a standout color that pops against the dark background, such as bright yellow or electric purple.

I always prefer Dark Mode for various reasons such as:
1. Dark mode uses darker backgrounds and lighter text, which can reduce eye strain and fatigue, especially in low-light environments. It minimizes the contrast between the screen and the surrounding environment, making it more comfortable for extended use, such as reading or browsing at night.
2. For devices with OLED or AMOLED screens, dark mode can lead to energy savings because individual pixels emit their own light. Dark backgrounds require less power, as fewer pixels need to be lit, thereby conserving battery life.
3. Dark mode can enhance text readability, as it reduces the amount of emitted light, making it easier on the eyes. This can be particularly beneficial for users with visual impairments or sensitivity to bright screens.
So, this is my opinion. Thanks. Shillong-teer-result.com

White looks great on dark mode, but completely unreadable on light mode. Most brands have one set color palette that they use across products, logos, and all of their other brand materials. Those colors are stored in the brand's design system and style guide to be used in design files and across the developers' codebase.
Before you dive into selecting Dark Mode variants for your brand colors, you need a new palette that categorizes your colors “semantically”. Semantic names give product teams information about what purpose the color serves, rather than just providing a name for the color itself.-

Ensuring readability and consistency in color palettes for both light and dark modes within design systems is crucial. Semantic names for colors provide valuable information about their intended usage rather than just identifying the color itself.
In a light mode context, employing subtle, neutral tones such as gray or light blues for general role distinctions creates a friendly interface. Administrator/Moderator roles benefit from authoritative hues like dark blue or purple, while Member/Regular Users can align with the platform's theme using lighter shades.
For dark mode, opting for slightly desaturated colors like dark gray or deep navy ensures clear visibility against the darker background. Administrator/Moderator roles can stand out with bold, vibrant tones such as red, orange, or neon green. Lighter shades of blues or teals for Member/Regular User roles maintain readability, while VIP/Premium Users can be highlighted with striking colors like bright yellow or electric purple.
Establishing a cohesive color scheme with semantic purposes enhances user experience, readability, and brand consistency across different display modes

Having dark mode is great but it's not a requirement, for the most part, users don't really care about dark mode on apps or websites. I think it's just developers who are night owls who prefer dark mode. I create websites for clients and they usually don't ask me to implement dark mode. Here are some sites which I made for clients https://www.teerresultkhanapara.com/ and https://www.shilongteerresult.com/. As you can see none of them have dark mode, but plenty of users use them without any complaints.

Enhancing readability across Discord modes is crucial for user experience. Striking the right balance between dark and light color schemes is vital to ensure visibility. An adaptive solution, automatically selecting dark colors in light mode and light colors in dark mode, could seamlessly cater to the diverse preferences of Discord users, fostering a more user-friendly environment for all.
This is my opinion. Shillong Teer Counter

Improve Discord's usability by introducing role colors tailored for both Light and Dark modes. Streamline the experience of reading names and roles in various modes, addressing concerns like dark red text being difficult to discern on dark mode and bright colors like yellow posing readability challenges on light mode. Explore the possibility of an automated system that dynamically adjusts colors based on the detected mode, ensuring optimal visibility in both scenarios. This approach accommodates users who frequently switch between themes, promoting accessibility across different mode preferences.

In Discord, you can set role colors for both light mode and dark mode to customize the appearance of users with different roles. Here's how you can set role colors for each mode:Light Mode Role Colors:
In light mode, you'll want to use colors that are easy on the eyes and provide good contrast against the default light background. Discord offers a color picker to choose from a wide range of colors. You can consider softer hues that are still distinct. For example:
- Moderator: Light blue (#7FC8F8)
- Administrator: Light green (#9EDC84)
- Member: Light gray (#CCCCCC)
- Guest: Light yellow (#FFE17F)
Dark Mode Role Colors:
In dark mode, you'll need colors that stand out against the darker background while still being visually appealing. Brighter shades or high-contrast colors work well. For example:
- Moderator: Cyan (#00FFFF)
- Administrator: Gold (#FFD700)
- Member: White (#FFFFFF)
- Guest: Light purple (#B57EDC)
Implementation Steps in Discord:
- Server Settings: Open your Discord server and navigate to "Server Settings" by clicking on the server name.
- Roles: Under "Server Settings," click on the "Roles" tab.
- Edit Role: Click on the role you want to set the color for.
- Color Picker: Discord provides a color picker where you can choose the desired color for the role.
- Save Changes: Once you've selected the color, save the changes.
Additional Tips:
- Ensure that the chosen colors provide good contrast and readability, especially in dark mode.
- Test the role colors in both light and dark modes to ensure they look appealing and are easily distinguishable.
- Consider the overall visual theme of your Discord server and choose role colors that complement it.

Dark mode uses less bright screens with light words, which helps prevent eye tiredness, especially when it's dark around. It's easier to look at screens for a long time, like reading at night, because the screen isn't much brighter than the place you're in. On phones with special screens (OLED/AMOLED), dark mode saves battery since it doesn't need to light up as many tiny screen parts. This mode also makes reading easier because it cuts down on harsh light, which is good for people who find bright screens hard or uncomfortable to see.

I think the choice between light and dark mode is largely subjective and depends on personal preference and the context in which the device or application is being used. Both light and dark modes have their own advantages and can play different roles based on user needs and environmental conditions.
Light mode is often associated with a clean, minimalist look that may be easier on the eyes in well-lit environments. It can also convey a sense of openness and clarity, making it suitable for tasks requiring a high level of visual precision, such as graphic design or reading long text passages.
On the other hand, dark mode offers a sleek, modern aesthetic and can be easier on the eyes in low-light conditions or for prolonged use, especially on devices with OLED displays where it can conserve battery life. Dark mode can also create a more immersive experience for certain types of content, such as gaming or watching videos, by reducing distractions and enhancing contrast.
As for role colors in either mode, they should be chosen with careful consideration of accessibility and usability principles. Colors are crucial in conveying information and guiding user interactions, so they should be distinct enough to be easily distinguishable and harmonious with the overall design scheme. In dark mode, especially, the contrast between text and background colors becomes even more critical to ensure readability.
Ultimately, choosing between light and dark modes and selecting role colors should prioritize user experience and accommodate diverse preferences and needs.

I always prefer Dark Mode for various reasons such as:
- Reduced Eye Strain: Dark mode uses darker backgrounds and lighter text, which can significantly reduce eye strain and fatigue, especially in low-light environments. This mode minimizes the contrast between the screen and the surrounding environment, making it more comfortable for extended use, such as reading or browsing at night.
- Battery Savings on OLED/AMOLED Screens: For devices with OLED or AMOLED screens, dark mode can help save energy. Since individual pixels emit their own light, dark backgrounds require less power because fewer pixels need to be lit. That is the reason I implemented that on our website Movierulz too, anyone can check it out.
- Enhanced Text Readability: Dark mode can enhance text readability by reducing the amount of emitted light, making it easier on the eyes. This is particularly beneficial for users with visual impairments or sensitivity to bright screens.

Light Mode vs. Dark Mode: A Color Perspective
In the digital world, user experience is paramount. One of the key elements that greatly influences this experience is the choice between light mode and dark mode. Both have their unique appeal and practical applications, particularly when it comes to color roles. Let's delve into how colors play a role in these two modes and what makes each one stand out.
Light Mode: Bright and Clear
Light mode, the traditional interface design, is characterized by dark text on a light background. This mode is known for its clarity and is often seen as more suitable for well-lit environments. Here's how colors are typically used in light mode:
- **Text Colors**: Black or dark gray text on a white or light gray background offers high contrast, making it easier to read.
- **Background Colors**: Light colors dominate, providing a clean and spacious feel. These can range from pure white to soft pastels.
- **Accent Colors**: Bright, saturated colors are used for highlights and actionable elements (like buttons and links). These colors stand out against the neutral backgrounds, drawing the user's attention.Dark Mode: Sleek and Soothing
Dark mode flips the color scheme, featuring light text on a dark background. This mode is appreciated for its modern aesthetic and its ability to reduce eye strain in low-light environments. The color roles in dark mode are quite distinct:
Text Colors: White or light gray text on a black or dark gray background creates a sleek contrast. This makes the text stand out without being too harsh on the eyes.
Background Colors: Dark hues, such as black, dark gray, or navy, are predominant. These colors help reduce the overall brightness of the screen, making it easier on the eyes during nighttime use.
Accent Colors : Vibrant, neon-like colors are often used for highlights and interactive elements. These colors need to be carefully chosen to maintain visibility against dark backgrounds.Choosing the Right Mode
The choice between light mode and dark mode often depends on user preference and context of use. Some key considerations include:
- **Environment**: Light mode is generally better in bright environments, while dark mode excels in low-light settings.
- **Eye Strain**: Dark mode can reduce eye strain, especially during prolonged screen time at night.
- **Battery Life**: On OLED screens, dark mode can help save battery life as it requires less power to display darker colors. Conclusion
Both light mode and dark mode have their unique roles in enhancing user experience through effective use of colors. Whether you prefer the bright and clear design of light mode or the sleek and soothing aesthetic of dark mode, understanding the color dynamics can help you make an informed choice that best suits your needs and environment.

I strongly favor Dark Mode for several key reasons:
- Reduced Eye Strain: Dark Mode's darker backgrounds and lighter text are easier on the eyes, particularly in low light. This can minimize eye fatigue during extended use, like reading or browsing at night.
- Energy Savings: On devices with OLED or AMOLED displays, Dark Mode can significantly extend battery life. Since each pixel emits its own light, darker screens require less power.
- Enhanced Readability: By emitting less light overall, Dark Mode can make text easier to read. This is especially helpful for those with visual impairments or sensitivity to bright screens.
For these reasons, Dark Mode is my preferred setting.
