Why is discord ignoring me even after presenting proper proof( some tips too)
So I got my account disabled a couple of days ago(11 EXCRUCIATING PAINFUL DAYS AGO) for being underage cuz I was joking ABOUT BEING 2 YEARS OLD!!! WHICH 2 YEAR OLD HAS A DAMN DISCORD ACCOUNT!! So yea it got disabled and the day it got disabled I made an appeal request and giving them my school ID as proof cuz they just asked for any photo ID that has DOB and so I did. 6 damn long days later *lmao* I get a reply saying they dont accept school IDs for verification from a person called @Coral idk why I cant get their name here but yea I get a reply saying they dont accept school IDs
- First of all WHY CANT THEY TELL IT IN THE FIRST PLACE THAT THEY DONT ACCEPT SCHOOL IDs
- Second of all why so so so long to reply to the ticket when a person has just 14 days for appealing and getting back their account before it permanently gets deleted after the account gets disabled…
So then its not like I got government issued IDs just lying around in my house, so after about 2 days I find my government ID and send it to them. And now yea im just getting madly ignored by them… So yea 3 years of activity gone in 14 days of doing absolutley nothing and getting disabled falsely even after providing proper proof. Discord support is GREAT.
Some tips when you make an appeal
- Provide either your government ID or birth certificate and not school/college ID as they dont accept that( I didnt know that in the start and lost about 6 days of time) This applies only for Age appeals only
- After you make an appeal ticket, keep refreshing your ticket page to see if it gets marked as solved by this bot called Nelly. If that happens just reply to your ticket and it gets marked as open again so it is visible to actual staff.
- Wait for staff reply for atleast 3 days and dont make too many tickets and dont add a lot of replies to the ticket.
Be careful when your mentioning anything related to age or numbers in discord servers or dms as discord report system doesnt care about context or reference and apparently reply to reports even quicker than appeals. I got reported and disabled and the time difference between the report and disabling of my account was hardly an hour lmao.
Got my account disabled and probably deleted in a few days( currently waiting staff reply since 11 days of disabling as im writing this now). My account got disabled but atleast I can help others so yeah!
Have a great day!

This is wild. I found your post just now and replied to my ticket because your tip says to do it if Nelly appears. My ticket is open again and I guess it should help. Thank you, man

It's frustrating to be ignored after submitting an appeal, especially when you have proper proof. Here's what you can do:
Understanding Discord's Policy:
- School IDs aren't accepted for age verification on Discord. While this information might not be readily available, it's outlined in their Terms of Service (https://discord.com/terms).
Tips for Getting a Response:
- Resubmit the Appeal with a Government ID: As Adityam mentioned, use a government-issued ID or birth certificate for verification.
-
Follow Up on Your Ticket: Discord's support system can be slow. Here's how to increase your chances of getting noticed:
- Refresh and Respond: As Adityam suggests, refresh your ticket page. If a bot marks it "solved" in error, reply to reopen it for human review.
- Wait Patiently: Give Discord staff at least 3 business days to respond before politely following up. Avoid creating multiple tickets or excessive replies.
Alternative Channels (if Appeal Remains Ignored):
- Discord Trust and Safety Twitter: While not a direct support line, you can try tweeting at explaining your situation and referencing your appeal ticket number.
- Online Communities: Discord communities and subreddits might offer unofficial help or share experiences navigating Discord support.
Important Note:
- Avoid Age-Related Jokes: As Adityam highlights, jokes about age can trigger automatic actions.
Additional Resources:
- You can learn more about online safety and responsible behavior on social media platforms here. (While the link doesn't directly address social media safety, it can be a placeholder. You can search for a more relevant resource)
Hopefully, by following these steps and remaining patient, you'll get a response from Discord. If the issue persists, consider exploring the alternative channels mentioned. Remember, creating a new account while under the age of 13 violates Discord's Terms of Service.
