Unable to stop Discord from launching at Windows startup
I have disabled the Update.exe with the Discord icon in Startup apps in Task Manager, as well as turned off Windows Settings → Open Discord, but this app still launches at startup. I did try uninstalling and reinstalling, but this did not work either.

I've had this issue for a long time with Discord. I want to assume the best of people, but it really seems like Discord purposely doesn't want to fix this because they want people always running Discord.
The Autoruns tool shows where things autostart from in Windows -
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns
I checked it on my PC (Win11 23H2 10.0.22631 / Discord stable 308210 (396byac) Host 1.0.9152 x64 (49057)) and deleted the registry value causing it to run at Windows startup (run from elevated CMD or PowerShell) -
reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run /v Discord /f
*** PLEASE DISCORD CAN YOU FIX THIS LONG-STANDING ISSUE? THANKS! ***

Try uninstalling again, and then deleting the Discord folders out of your M$FT profile account folder. Then reinstall. That finally worked for me.
